Bella Poarch's biological Filipino parents welcomed her in the Philippines in the Philippines on February 9, 1997. Her maternal grandmother was living in slums with her biological parents until when she was 3 years old. Her adoption was later completed. Both of her adoptive parents are Filipinos and her white American adoptive dad has military experience. She says that her as well as her brother, who was adopted when an infant, suffered abuse before they joined the military. For the purpose of moving to Texas, when she turned 13, her family spent many months in San Francisco to stay with her aunt. She says the physical abuse subsided after a short time, however, she had to deal with emotional abuse from her father. She was a member of the United States Navy at age 18. Poarch started her TikTok profile in April of 2020. Within eight months she had more than 40 million followers. Poarch posted a range of videos however her one that went on to become most well-known was Millie's viral hit Soph Aspin Send. It became one of TikTok's most popular videos. The video was zoomed-in on her dancing while lip-syncing to the song became a viral hit. The actress started her YouTube as well as Twitter accounts in the months after her joining TikTok to benefit from her growing fame. Poarch's rising fame peaked in the month of December, 2020. Poarch was reportedly the subject of interest of two big professional Esports teams. FaZe Clan (100 Thieves) and 100 Thieves are interested in hiring her to develop content for their respective brand names.
